Download and trial

Download ProtectionAI

Version 1.10.0, self-contained, Windows 10 and 11 x64. The installer is unsigned and SmartScreen will warn — verify the SHA-256 before you run it, then use it for seven days without a key.

Served as a GitHub Release asset. Check the hash below against your download before you execute it.

The binary is hosted as a GitHub Release asset, not on gridapm.com. Confirm the expected repository, version tag, filename and SHA-256 independently; separate hosting reduces risk but is not an immutability guarantee.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, x64
  • Self-contained build — no .NET runtime or other prerequisite to install
  • A normal Windows user account; site application-control policy may require administrator approval
  • Approximately 500 MB free disk space for the application
  • No internet connection required to run tests or to activate a licence

Trial and licensing

The application runs for 7 days with no key and no internet connection. After that it needs a per-computer licence key: email sales@gridapm.com with your organisation, the number of computers and your procurement route, and you will receive a key and a written quotation. Activation is RSA-signed, offline and bound to the machine — no licence server is contacted at any point.

Verify the download

Run this in the folder you downloaded to. The second command prints True if the file is the artefact we published. A False result means it is not — do not run it, and re-download from the GitHub Release rather than from a mirror.

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\ProtectionAI-Setup.msi | Format-List
(Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\ProtectionAI-Setup.msi).Hash -eq "DE239F78A5145BFB17384CC16A3480966856A4C168453720ACEC567D6573124E"

Before you download

The installer is unsigned, and Windows will say so

Expect a SmartScreen warning. It is not a sign that anything went wrong with the download.

GridAPM does not hold a code-signing certificate, so the installer carries no Authenticode signature. Windows SmartScreen shows an unrecognised-app warning when you run it, and you have to choose More info and then Run anyway to continue. We would rather state that here than let it arrive as a surprise that makes you doubt the file.

What each release does publish is a SHA256SUMS manifest, a keyless Sigstore signature over that manifest recorded in a public transparency log, and a CycloneDX software bill of materials with component hashes. Those let you prove the bytes you hold are the bytes we published, from this repository and tag. None of them is Authenticode, and none of them removes the SmartScreen warning — they are evidence of integrity, not a substitute for code signing.

Supply chain

Why the binary does not live on this website

The binary is distributed from its GitHub Release, deliberately.

gridapm.com does not host the ProtectionAI binary. The download link points at the version-specific ProtectionAI-Releases GitHub Release asset, and that is the distribution point. The release page is a publicly inspectable record, but this page does not claim that the GitHub release is immutable. Verify the exact tag, filename, byte count and SHA-256 against the release record before execution.

Separating marketing content from binary hosting reduces one part of the supply-chain blast radius, but it is not a guarantee: a compromised site could still alter a link or the checksum it displays. Confirm that the address bar is on the expected Cwgtshome/ProtectionAI-Releases tag, compare the release-page integrity data independently, and treat a binary offered from any other host as untrusted.

Integrity

Verify the SHA-256 first

Two commands in PowerShell. The second prints True if the file is the one we published.

The verification snippet is on this page next to the installer facts. Run it in the folder you downloaded to: the first command prints the computed hash for your eyes, and the second compares it against the expected value and returns a plain True or False. A False result means the file is not the artefact we published — do not run it, and do not try again from a different mirror. Re-download from the GitHub Release and verify again.

The expected hash, the exact byte count and the display size are published on this page so that all three can be checked independently. If any of them disagrees with what you have, stop.

Before you install

System requirements

Modest, because the application is a desktop tool and the database is a local file.

Trial to licence

From download to activated machine

  1. Download from the GitHub Release

Take the version-specific ProtectionAI-Setup.msi release asset linked on this page. Note the published byte count and SHA-256 as you go.

  2. Verify the hash

Run the two-command PowerShell snippet on this page and confirm the comparison returns True before you execute the installer.

  3. Run the installer

After verification, run ProtectionAI-Setup.msi on a Windows 10 or 11 x64 machine. The install is per-machine, self-contained, and does not fetch a runtime; a new version upgrades in place rather than stacking.

  4. Use the 7-day trial

The application runs for seven days with no key and no internet connection. Import your own settings, build real plans, run them against the simulator and export a report on your own letterhead.

  5. Request a licence key

Email sales@gridapm.com with your organisation, the number of computers, their Windows versions, whether they are isolated, and your procurement route. You will receive a per-computer key and a written quotation.

  6. Activate offline

Apply the key on the machine it was issued for. Activation is RSA-signed and validated locally, with no licence server contacted at any point.

Sanity check

Set expectations before you install

Three limits worth having in mind on day one, so the trial tells you what you actually need to know.

  • The built-in simulator is the only fully qualified execution path. The bounded OMICRON CM Engine adapter (discovery, lock, static phasors, output control, software ramps) has no physical-CMC HIL qualification; the generic SCPI source driver cannot detect a trip; the Doble, Megger, ISA/Altanova and EuroSMC drivers refuse to connect.
  • IEC 61850 work starts on deterministic loopback. The physical-interface SharpPcap/Npcap transport is real, needs a separately installed licensed Npcap, and remains subject to live-network qualification; there is no silent fallback between transports.
  • The AI copilot needs your own Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI/Grok or Google/Gemini API key. Without one it stays inert, and every capability is still reachable manually.

Try it for seven days and check the claims yourself

Install ProtectionAI on a Windows machine, import your own XRIO or RIO settings, run the plans you would really run against the built-in simulator and export a report on your own letterhead. No key is needed for the trial, and no internet connection is needed to run it. When you want a per-computer licence, email sales@gridapm.com.
