What both products assume

The same philosophy underneath

Two different problems, one set of commitments about how software should behave inside a substation trust boundary.

Local-first, inside the trust boundary
Both are Windows desktop applications that run on a workstation inside the substation or engineering trust boundary. There is no GridAPM cloud service to reach, no seat server to check in with, and no inbound connection into an OT network. A basement with no signal is a normal working environment.
A named engineer at the decision point
The AI drafts and never owns a protection verdict. ProtectionAI centrally refuses tools that can energize outputs until the operator confirms isolation, while deterministic code owns pass/fail. AgenticGrid Pro retains its named engineer sign-off workflow. Neither product makes an asset or protection decision on model authority.
The retrievable record is the deliverable
In both products the work and the evidence are one act rather than two. What you keep is a record filed against a specific asset — with the inputs it was made from, the version of the data it was made on, and who accepted it — retrievable by asset rather than by filename.
Your own AI provider key, controlled egress
The optional AI capability runs on your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, encrypted at rest with Windows DPAPI on your own machine, calling only the provider you configured. Egress is controlled and reviewable, no customer data is pooled across customers, and if you never set a key the AI stays dormant while the rest of the application behaves exactly as it would otherwise.

Not a suite

How they differ, and why that matters at procurement

These are two products, not two modules. There is no bundle, no shared licence and no integration between them today.

Different assets

ProtectionAI is about protective relays and the schemes they implement. AgenticGrid Pro is about power transformers and their condition over decades. Different equipment, different failure modes, different evidence.

Different buyers

ProtectionAI is bought by protection and commissioning teams who need to prove a scheme behaves as designed. AgenticGrid Pro is bought by transformer asset owners and reliability teams deciding what to do with a fleet.

Different standards

One is anchored in the relay-testing standards — IEC 60255-151, IEEE C37.112, C37.111, IEC 61850. The other in transformer diagnostics and lifecycle guidance. Almost no overlap in the reference frame.

Separate products, separate licences

These are two products, not two modules of a suite. They are licensed separately, installed separately and versioned separately. There is no bundle, and there is no integration between them today — buying one gives you nothing in the other.
